Sheriff Jeff Watson

 

 
           Sheriff Jeff Watson took office on January 1, 2005. Sheriff Watson has always been committed to the fight on illegal drugs and keeping Taylor County Highways safe. In 2006 Sheriff Watson and the Taylor County Sheriff's Office began competing in the State of Georgia Governor's Office of Highway Safety Challenge Program. This challenge is open to all Georgia Law Enforcement agencies. Each agency is allowed to provide a summary of their highway safety enforcement and education activities for the year. By participating in the Governor's Challenge, the agency is then eligible to participate in the National Association of Chief's of Police Challenge. In 2006 the Taylor County Sheriff's Office was awarded 2nd place in the State of Georgia and the National Challenge. In 2007 the Taylor County Sheriff's Office was awarded 3rd place in the State of Georgia Challenge and 1st place in the National Challenge. In 2008 the Taylor County Sheriff's Office was awarded 1st place in the state of Georgia Challenge and 2nd place in the National Challenge. The Taylor County Sheriff's Office was awarded 2nd place in the National Challenge for the year 2009.
